Artist's Comments - 'White King II'

I find myself drawn to this image, a kaleidoscope of perspective. Using 'Triangular (Straight Line) Perspective' in multiple, tessellating its structure creates an image which defies logic.

'White King II' was an experiment to see if conventional perspective could be used to represent our total environment and using this particular method it failed.

We see through the eye, light is focused through the lens and falls onto the retina, a concave spherical surface. We are three dimensional and live in a three dimensional world. Can we really use a two dimensional media, such as a flat piece of paper, to represent our environment or do we need to approach this from a different angle?
